Amazing Breakfast of the Month Club - September

Last Christmas, my sweet sweet husband gave me a one year membership to the Amazing Breakfast of the Month Club.  I am a total morning person and I love breakfast.  Unfortunately, rushing to work Monday to Friday doesn't leave much time to just hang out and cook up some hot breakfast to enjoy in the morning light.  This gift is a great reminder to slow down on a Saturday or Sunday morning to do something that really relaxes me.

This membership basically entails a monthly shipment of gourmet breakfast items that usually have a few servings.  I've been taking pictures of each box I received every month but never got around to posting them.  August is a good month to start.  I figure when I get to the end of the year and the end of my membership, I can backtrack to this past January-July shipments.  So we're all good.

The shipments come at the end of the month.  I received September's shipment about three weeks ago. I finally opened the box this past weekend.

It came with four items: Maple Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix, Blueberry Preserve, Dried Apple Slices, and Hazelnut Gourmet Coffee.

I decided to make pancakes instead of waffles.  I followed the directions on the back of the bag and cut the ingredients in half since I'm only cooking for two people.

It made ten mini pancakes.  You can't really tell that they're minis since I didn't put them up against anything for scale.  They were light and fluffy.  Nothing to complain about.

I topped it with the blueberry preserves.  KT thought the preserves would go nicely over ice cream.  I'm inclined to agree.

We had a few of the dried apple slices to snack on the side.  Unfortunately, it seemed staled.  I guess I'm just used to crispy apple chips.  Anyone wants dried apple slices?

I love hazelnut coffee so that was an automatic thumbs up.  The whole bag made 12 cups.

I can't wait for October's shipment.  I'm betting there will be something related to pumpkins in there...

  1. You can try baking the apple slices to get them crispy again. People do that with stale popcorn.
